“Information - To promote and
disseminate information on rehabilitation in India and abroad.” is one of the
major objectives of the Institute. It has a separate section for Library, Information,
Documentation services. The section is divided into three functional units – The
Technical Library, Information and Documentation Services, Audiovisual Aids. The Central Medical/Technical Library has an
excellent collection of latest text books, reference books, reports, reprints on various
facets of Disability, Rehabilitation and allied subjects. Around 500 new books are added
every year. Over 100 foreign journals are subscribed. The back volumes of these journals
of last twenty years are available. There is a good collection of Audiovisual Aids and Teaching Models. Photo and Video coverage of functions, preparation of slides, photos of patients/persons with disabilities and posters and banners are prepared locally. Projection support with good A.V. hardware is provided for teaching. A 20 minute Documentary ' A Brave New World ' in English and Hindi (16 mm colour) and video format) and three T.V. Spots on Childhood Disability with a financial assistance from UNICEF are produced.
Reference Services,
Literature searches, Current Awareness Services etc. are provided using major commercial
bibliographic databases and created locally.

Health (CINAHL) (1983 till date) The literature search
service and supply of photocopies of articles from technical journals are also extended to
the professionals of other institutions in the country.
